40th Reunion Detailed Agenda

6 July 2022

We now have some significant detail on reunion events on a day-by-day, hour-by-hour basis. It's too much to type out here, but if you click on this link, it'll open a .pdf with all the gouge. If you have any problems opening the document, let me know and I'll get it to you in some other format.

Please note: If you want access to the Cadet Area during the open house portion of the reunion, you absolutely MUST register NLT 28 July! The base security folks need detailed contact and security info from all registrants by that date so they can complete their screening processes. If you don't have your registration in by 28 July, you will not be able to enter the Cadet Area, even if you have the normal credentials necessary to enter the Academy reservation.

Heather Wilson - Guest Speaker: Dr. Heather Wilson has graciously agreed to be the keynote speaker at our class banquet on Friday evening. The theme of her presentation will be "Officers of Character Motivated to Lead".

She notes that our lives are generally divided into thirds, and as we enter the final third she asks, "What should we call on ourselves to be and do? What has 40 years of life experience given to us as perspective to answer that question?"

She would like us to contact her with some stories of people in our class whom they admire and why. She'd like to weave those stories into her remarks. If you have a particularly moving anecdote regarding one or more of our classmates (and I know you do!), please contact Heather directly at hawilson@aol.com, with a copy to me (rattijm@mindspring.com and to Jim Demarest (james.t.demarest@gmail.com).

And speaking of stories, Jim Demarest will give some mic time at the banquet to anyone who can top the tale Kate Smith told at the 35th reunion about passing her swimming test as a cadet. I swear, she could have a career as a stand-up comic with material and delivery like that, so it's a tall bar to best her. But brush up your favorite cadet story and let Jim know about it. You might get star billing!

I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
