I learned today that Denis McDonough, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, has appointed Kate L. Smith to the Department of Veteran Affairs Advisory Committee on Women Veterans. Her term runs through September 2025. The Committee provides advice to the Secretary on the needs of women veterans. During our 40th reunion, Jeff Moragne, who is responsible for all the advisory committees for the Department of Veterans Affairs, asked Kate to volunteer. Kate said, “Sir, yes, Sir!”. Service is Kate's middle name, and I'm confident that Kate will be a fine advocate. Hats off! All the best, Jim Ratti
