Holiday Greetings From the Lunds and DuRants in 2001

We have been blessed this year with health and happiness and are very fortunate to send good wishes to so many wonderful friends and family members. As we look back over the year and take stock in our blessings, we realize how much we appreciate you. Thank you for enriching our lives. Thank you for sharing the blessings of your friendship and love with us! Here’s our news:

Kevin has amazed us all year with his many talents. He has enjoyed playing second base with his softball team, The Jelly Rolls. The Rolls ended the season on a winning streak. Kevin made some spectacular plays and hit two game winning hits. He gracefully snow boarded for the first time even in Santa Fe, NM. We have the snow angel picture he made to prove it! His best talent of the year turned out to be his porch painting artistry. Our porch has a fresh coat of shiny white paint and two bands of green around each column. That’s another reason for you to come see us Kevin’s painting.

Nancy has tackled the over 40 fat monster and has got it in a chokehold. In July, Nancy bellied up to the Boeing bar and ordered up a Boeing 767. She said, “I want to fly me one of them thar biggo aeroplanes. Mix me up a batch of bad first landings and I’ll serve ‘em up to my passengers!” Nance has about got the hang of the Boeing, Boeing, Boeings. Nancy enjoyed the visit we had in May from Kevin’s dad, Ken, and brother, Steve. After three years of decorating, sewing and painting, we think it’s time for all y’all to come see the shack we built (hint, hint.. .Dad and Susan)!

Lace has grown up beautifully. At 15 and in 9th grade, she has become quite a little lady scholar and athlete. Two softball seasons in a row, she received most improved player trophies from her coaches. Academically, Lace is tough to beat as well. She amazed us on the slopes with her snowboarding prowess. After only one lesson, Lace was able to go up the lift and come down the green slopes standing up. Whew Lace, you ride a mean board!

Alex was no slouch his first time on the slopes either. He learned to ski and was racing past Nancy as she floundered on her snowbum. In Colorado, Alex’s mastery of the
white water rafting paddle was unmatched. He took charge of splashing 49-degree Arkansas River water on Kevin and Lace and never let up. Alex is still doing well in school and enjoys science and reading. He made the Rebel tennis team and enjoyed playing for the 8th grade at North Ridge Middle School. Alex is still our jazzman on the saxophone just like Granann’s dad, Wade Winburn. Alex attracted the attention of his Granddad and Granny, Cecil and Mary Lou DuRant, and convinced them to come see him play a doubles tennis match and eat candy at the same time. They were amazed!

So, what’s stopping you from your visit/call/letter/email? Our new email address is Lunds(nospam)@charter.net for your records. Please accept our warmest best wishes for the holiday season and for a super 2002!

Cheers from Kevin, Nancy, Lace and Alex
