New Naming Convention

Following the Summer '98 issue, the AOG changed their naming convention for Checkpoints articles.  What would have previously been called the Fall '98 article was renamed the Winter '98 article.  However, this shift was short-lived.

Since that wasn't confusing enough, starting with 1999, they went to another naming convention, using the actual dates of publication (not the mailing date, which may be later...  Oh man, my head hurts...).

Here's a cheat sheet:

Old Name New Name Mailing Date
Fall '98 Winter '98 Dec '98
Winter '98 Mar '99 Mar '99
Spring '99 Jun '99 Jun '99
Summer '99 Sep '99 TBD (issue delayed)
Fall '99 Dec '99 Dec '99

Ultimately, this latest scheme should be the least confusing.  To help ease the pain, I've tried to sort out for you how the deadlines work.
