Deadline Information
Up Home Page

My deadline to the Association of Graduates is roughly 3 months prior to the mailing date of each issue.  That means I am typically just submitting the next article just as you are reading the current one.  So, if you send me news about a week or so after you receive your Checkpoints magazine, you probably won't see it in print for 6 months!  That is why I started this website in the first place.

With the website, I can generally get your news on-line in the "Updates" section within a few days of receiving it.  As soon as I finish writing the next article, I put in on-line in the "AOG Articles" section.  It shows up there coincident with my deadline, nearly 3 months prior to mailing.

To help you figure out which article has the tidbit of news you're looking for, here is a table with some dates you might find helpful:

Old Name
(New Name)
Spring
(Mar)
Summer
(Jun)
Fall
(Sep)
Winter
(Dec)
Has news from Oct - Dec Jan - Mar Apr - Jun Jul - Sep
Date to AOG Late Dec Mid Mar Late Jun Late Sep
On Web Early Jan Late Mar Early Jul Early Oct
Mailing Date Mid Mar Late May Mid Sep Mid Dec

In other words, if you send me news in late February, it should appear on the web (in the "Updates" area) in a short time, then appear in the Summer (Jun) issue on the web in mid-March, then be in your mailbox by the end of May.  However, if you wait until the end of March (after you've read the magazine you just got), thus missing my mid-March AOG deadline, you'll still see the news in "Updates" almost immediately, but it won't appear in print until the Fall (Aug) article, mailed out in mid September!
